THE UNNAMABLE

The Unnamable is an abstract sculpture and functional lamp that transforms its surroundings through a glowing purple light. Its form deliberately resists definition, inviting the viewer to project meaning rather than encounter a fixed image.

The work draws on the philosophical concept of the noumenon, introduced by Immanuel Kant: that which exists beyond human perception and cannot be fully known or described. At the same time, the title refers to H.P. Lovecraft’s short story The Unnamable, in which language fails to capture an incomprehensible entity. Positioned between philosophy and science fiction, the lamp becomes both a light source and a manifestation of the unknowable.
Present, perceptible, yet ultimately beyond naming.
