The Wall for the Meeting Room at Hotel Piet Hein Eek was designed as part of Piet Hein Eek’s new hotel. The acoustic wall is made from repurposed mattress foam, treated with UV-resistant acrylic paint to ensure durability.

Although the surface appears stone-like, it remains soft to the touch, creating a surprising contrast between visual weight and material comfort. The pastel color palette adds a calm yet playful atmosphere to the space. Beyond its aesthetic and acoustic function, the wall also conceals a hidden door leading to an adjacent room, blending functionality, material reuse, and subtle spatial play into a single architectural element.
