Constructed from reclaimed wood and finished with fragments of adhesive marble, Johnny Couch has a deliberately raw, sculptural appearance. Its surface recalls the visual weight of carved marble blocks, while the interior reveals a surprising comfort. The seating is composed of reused mattresses, offering a soft and inviting experience that stands in sharp contrast to the couch’s robust exterior.

By combining discarded materials with references to classical monumentality, Johnny Couch questions established hierarchies of materials and redefines what comfort and luxury can mean in contemporary design.
